History

The Faculty of Da’wah and Communication (FDK) Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta was established on September 30, 1970 under the name of the Faculty of Islamic Proselytizing. Along with the publication of the Organization of Work (Ortaker) of Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University which was published by the Ministry of Religion Number 26 of 2013 on March 28, 2013, the name of this faculty was changed to Faculty of Islamic Proselytizing and Communication. As a unit under the University in constructing the vision and mission, it must be adjusted to the vision and mission of the university. The vision and mission the Faculty of Islamic Proselytizing and Communication are set out on 2020-2024 strategic plan. The Islamic Proselytizing and Communication faculty has five undergraduate programs and one postgraduate, with five programs accredited A and 1 AUN-QA certified. The Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Program historically cannot be separated from the origin of the establishment of the Islamic Proselytizing Department (before it became the Faculty of Islamic Proselytizing), at one of the oldest universities in Indonesia under the Indonesian Ministry of Religion called IAIN Sunan Kalijaga. Currently, it has become the Faculty of Islamic Proselytizing and Communication at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta.
